This browser doesn't support the folder-open dialog, so the standard folder picker is used. Files are read only on your device.

Scanners, fax machines, and copiers produce TIFF, a format browsers can't draw. This page decodes TIFF (TIF) to pixels inside the browser. Use it to flip through scanned contracts, a fax inbox, or an archive of old documents without installing anything.

How to use it

  1. 1Click 'Choose TIFF files' or drop a scan folder onto the page.
  2. 2Click a file in the grid to open it large. Zoom with the wheel to read small print, rotate with R.
  3. 3Print with the 🖨 button (fit to one page); to bundle into a PDF use Images to PDF from the related tools.

What it shows

Decoded with UTIF — uncompressed, LZW, Deflate, PackBits, and fax CCITT G3/G4 (1-bit black and white) are read, and multi-page TIFFs show their largest page. RGB, grayscale, palette, and CMYK (approximated) are handled.

Files are read inside the browser only and never sent anywhere. Close the tab and nothing remains.

Limits

Only one page of a multi-page TIFF is shown, so convert to PDF when you need every page. Old-style JPEG-compressed TIFF (6.0 JPEG) and 16-bit or floating-point images may not render accurately. GeoTIFF coordinates aren't displayed.

Good for

Opening a TIF received by fax, finding a document in a scan archive, and checking TIFF originals from older digital cameras.

Frequently asked questions

How do I see the other pages of a multi-page TIFF?+

Only the largest page is shown. For every page, make a PDF with the Images to PDF tool or export page PNGs with Image Convert.

A fax TIFF looks stretched.+

Fax standards use different horizontal and vertical resolutions (e.g. 204×98 dpi), so the raw pixels look squashed. This viewer draws pixels as-is, so it can look that way; reading the content isn't affected.

How do I convert TIFF to JPEG or PNG?+

The Image Convert tool uses the same decoder and saves JPEG, PNG, or WebP. No upload.
