Which format to pick
For photos and other colour-rich images, JPG is a sensible size-for-quality choice and opens everywhere. For logos, icons, and screenshots where transparency or crisp edges matter, choose PNG. Converting to JPG fills transparent areas with a solid colour.
WebP is smaller than JPG and PNG at the same quality and supports transparency, which makes it a good fit for websites and blogs. Some older programs and upload forms still reject WebP, so stick with JPG or PNG for submissions.
Open PSD and AI files without the apps
You can add PSD and AI files without Photoshop or Illustrator, preview them, and save them as JPG or PNG. That is handy for checking a designer's draft or turning it into an image for a document.
The tool reads the composite image stored inside the file, so files with complex layer effects or saved without a preview may look different from the original application or fail to open.
Batches and other media
Add several images and they are converted in order with the same settings. For folder-sized jobs, the Batch Convert tool is more convenient.

iPhone HEIC files are best converted with the dedicated HEIC Converter tool.
Is quality lost?+
Saving as PNG or lossless WebP keeps everything; JPG introduces slight loss on save. Avoid re-saving the same JPG repeatedly.
