  3. 3Press Replace and download the result

Supported formats · DOCX · PPTX · XLSX

Find and replace text across Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), and Excel (.xlsx) documents in bulk, with the formatting kept intact. It doesn't rewrite the document, only swapping the text inside, so fonts, tables, and layout stay exactly as they were. Files are processed inside your browser and never uploaded, so even sensitive documents like contracts or name lists stay on your device.

How to use it

  1. 1Drag in or select the .docx, .pptx, or .xlsx document you want to change.
  2. 2Enter the text to find and its replacement. Use 'Add rule' to include several pairs at once.
  3. 3Click Replace to swap the text throughout the whole document in one pass.
  4. 4Download the updated document in the same format.

When it comes in handy

It helps when you need to swap names, company names, or dates throughout a contract or form all at once.

It is also handy for changing an old brand name or a person's name scattered across many slides to a new one in a single pass.

And when the same phrase repeats across several Excel sheets, you can clean it all up quickly.

Formatting stays, only the text changes

Because it swaps only the text inside rather than recreating the document, fonts, colors, tables, and layout are all preserved. It's like 'Replace All' in Word, but you can do it right in your browser with no install.

It searches headers, footers, and cells too

It looks through Word body text, headers, and footers, PowerPoint slides, and Excel cells. Even when a single word is stored split into several pieces inside the file, it still finds and replaces it correctly.

Several rules at once

Add multiple find-and-replace pairs with 'Add rule', and they all apply in a single run. You can set names, company names, and dates separately and clean them up together.

How the matching works

It looks for the exact text you type, matching case. Regular expressions and wildcards aren't supported, so enter the exact word you want to change. After replacing, you download the result as a new file so you can compare it with the original.
