Video to GIF

Turn any clip of your video into a GIF — everything runs in your browser

On-Device

1. Choose a video

3. Clip & quality

GIF files grow fast — up to 30 seconds, shorter is better.

QualityPresets fill in the width & FPS below — tweak them freely afterward.

4. Convert

Pick a clip (start and length) from a video and convert it into an animated GIF. Crop it, set the exact width, height, and FPS, or let it auto-shrink to hit a target file size. A two-pass palette keeps colors clean, and everything runs in your browser — files never leave your device.

What you can do

  • Clip selection (start·length, up to 30s)
  • Drag-to-crop right in the preview
  • Set exact width, height & FPS (or use quality presets)
  • Auto-shrink to a target size in MB (up to 4 tries)

How to use

  1. 1Upload a video and find the moment in the preview
  2. 2Set start, length, and quality
  3. 3Press Make GIF and download

Turn a chosen span (start and length) of a video into an animated GIF. Crop it, set width, height, and FPS directly, or let it shrink automatically to a target size. A two-pass FFmpeg palette keeps colors clean, and everything runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. 1Select or drag in the video.
  2. 2Choose the span and the size and FPS (or a target size) for the GIF.
  3. 3Download the finished GIF.

When it comes in handy

For example, it helps when you want to turn a funny 3-second moment from a video into a GIF to post in a chat.

It's also good for making a short looping GIF of a product step to drop into a doc or blog post.

Control color quality and size

A two-pass FFmpeg palette reduces the color banding GIFs are known for. Set width, height, and FPS yourself, or give a target size and it scales to fit.

Frequently asked questions

Is the video uploaded to a server?+

No. Conversion runs inside your browser, so the video never leaves your device.

My GIF is too large.+

Reduce the width and height or lower the FPS to shrink it. You can also set a target size and let it fit automatically.

Does it include sound?+

The GIF format can't hold audio. If you need sound, save as MP4 instead of GIF.
