This browser doesn't support the folder-open dialog, so the standard folder picker is used. Files are read only on your device.

.numbers files from Mac Numbers and .ods files from LibreOffice don't open directly in Excel on Windows. This page converts both to tables inside the browser. Switch between sheets to check the contents, and hand off to the Excel viewer when you need to edit.

How to use it

  1. 1Click 'Choose NUMBERS files' or drop a file onto the page. ODS works too.
  2. 2Click a file and the table appears. Switch sheets with the tabs below and zoom with the wheel.
  3. 3Print with 🖨; to edit or save as Excel, open it in the Excel Viewer from the related tools.

What it shows

The Numbers package or ODS is read with SheetJS and converted to XLSX structure, then drawn with the same render model as the Excel viewer (ExcelJS). Cell values, formula results, basic formatting (bold, alignment, borders, fills), merged cells, and column widths are shown, with tabs for multiple sheets.

Files are read inside the browser only and never sent anywhere. Close the tab and nothing remains.

Limits

A Numbers sheet holding several tables shows them one after another; free-form canvas placement isn't reproduced. Charts, images, conditional formatting, and formulas themselves (results only) aren't shown. Password-protected files won't open. Very old Numbers '09 files have limited support.

Good for

Checking a Numbers file from a Mac user on Windows, opening LibreOffice ODS, and reviewing before converting to Excel.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save as Excel (.xlsx)?+

Open it in the Excel Viewer — it runs the same conversion and can save as .xlsx, with editing.

Charts don't show.+

Charts and images aren't read; only table data is shown. Export a PDF from Numbers or LibreOffice when you need charts.

Tables aren't where they were.+

Numbers lets tables float anywhere on a sheet; this viewer lists them in order. The data is the same.
