Unpack ZIP files in the browser, or bundle several files into one ZIP. It works on locked-down office PCs and phones where you can't install an archiver, and since files never leave your device, sensitive documents are safe. Password-protected ZIPs are not supported yet.
How to use it
- 1Drop a ZIP on the Unzip tab, or several files on the Zip tab.
- 2In Unzip, browse the file list and save files one by one or with Save all.
- 3In Zip, check the files and click Compress to download a single ZIP.
When it comes in handy
Opening a ZIP attachment on an office PC that blocks installs or on a phone, bundling photos and documents to send in one go by email or messenger, or checking what's inside a ZIP before unpacking it.
Windows and macOS have built-in zip support, but picking out one file or working in a browser-only environment is easier here.
How unzip and zip work
Unzip lists the files and their sizes first, and you can save just the ones you want. Save all downloads files one after another with a short gap so the browser doesn't block consecutive downloads. ZIPs made with legacy Windows encodings can show garbled non-Latin file names; the contents are fine, so just rename after saving.
Zip creates a standard DEFLATE archive that opens with the built-in tools on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
What is supported
Password-protected ZIPs and multi-part (split) ZIPs are not supported, and other archive formats such as RAR and 7z are outside this tool's scope.
Very large ZIPs (several gigabytes) can fail against browser memory limits. To bundle files while setting their dates, the File Date tool creates a ZIP with dates embedded.

Are files uploaded to a server?+
No. Zipping and unzipping happen inside your browser and files never leave your device.
Can I unpack several files at once?+
Yes. Save all downloads them one after another. If the browser asks to allow multiple downloads, allow it.
Does it handle password-protected ZIPs?+
Not yet. Split ZIPs, RAR, and 7z are not supported either.
Non-Latin file names look garbled.+
That happens with ZIPs made using legacy Windows encodings. The contents are intact; rename the files after saving.
Will the ZIP open in other programs?+
Yes. It uses standard DEFLATE, so it opens with the built-in tools on any OS and any archiver.
