Open Korean HWP documents right in your browser, with no Hancom Office install required. On a Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Windows PC, view hwp and hwpx files without installing software or signing up. When it comes in handy
It helps when you only have a Mac or iPhone but need to check a .hwp notice from a government office or school.
It is also handy for opening a .hwpx resume or report on a work laptop that doesn't have Hangul installed.
And when the other person doesn't have the Hangul software, you can turn the document into a PDF to send it.
Why won't HWP files open?
HWP is Hancom's proprietary format for the Korean word processor Hangul. Without Hancom Office installed, a Mac, iPhone, or Linux machine (or a Windows PC without Hangul) usually has no viewer for it.
This tool renders the document pages inside your browser using a reverse-engineered renderer (rhwp, WebAssembly). No install, no sign-in, and your file is never sent to a server.
hwpx files work too
Both the older binary hwp and the newer zip/XML-based hwpx (2010 and later) are supported. Files that other online viewers reject as 'hwpx not supported' open here as well.
Turning it into a PDF to share
Open the document, click 'Print · Save as PDF', and in the print dialog choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination. The shortcut is Cmd+P on Mac and Ctrl+P on Windows.
The resulting PDF opens anywhere, even for people who don't have Hangul installed, which makes sharing HWP documents easy.
What may look different from the original
Because the HWP format has no public official spec and is reverse-engineered, complex tables, shapes, or some formatting can look different from Hancom Office. It works well for reading, copying text, and sharing as a PDF.
