Stamp each page with its number and the total, like '3 / 30'. Choose bottom centre, bottom right, or top right, and limit numbering to certain pages, for example everything after the cover. Everything runs inside your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
How to use it
- 1Select or drop the PDF.
- 2Pick a position (bottom centre, bottom right, or top right). To number only some pages, type them like '2-30'; leave blank for all.
- 3Click Add numbers and download the finished PDF.
When it comes in handy
Reports, theses, and proposals that require page numbers when you no longer have the source file, or merged files whose numbering doesn't run through. Numbered printouts are easy to put back in order if the sheets get mixed up.
Run this after the Merge tool and you get one continuous sequence across the whole document.
Skipping the cover or contents
Type '3-45' in the pages box and the first two pages stay unnumbered. The number itself follows the actual page position, so page 3 shows '3 / 45'. An option to restart counting from 1 is not available yet.
The thumbnail grid shows up to 60 pages; for pages beyond that, type the numbers directly.
If numbers overlap content
Numbers are placed small in the margin, but on scans with almost no margin or on edge-to-edge designs they can collide with content. Try a different position and generate again; the original stays untouched, so you can repeat as often as you like.
Numbers are real text, so they can be searched and selected in a viewer.

Can I choose where the number goes?+
Yes: bottom centre, bottom right, or top right.

Type '2-30' in the pages box and page 1 stays unnumbered. Numbers follow the actual page position.
Can I change the number format?+
Currently there is one format: current page / total pages.
Is the original PDF changed?+
No. You get a new numbered PDF; the original stays as it is.
