You don't need Excel installed

Even on a Mac, Chromebook, or iPad without Excel or an office suite, you can open .xlsx and .xls files and read each sheet as a table with just a browser. No install and no sign-in required.

Files are opened inside your browser and never sent to a server, so sensitive spreadsheets like payroll or sales data stay private.

Old .xls files work too

Both the modern .xlsx standard and the older .xls (legacy binary) format are supported, so you can open them directly without converting first.

Very large sheets show the first part

For display performance, each sheet shows up to 300 rows by 40 columns. Larger spreadsheets are shown from the beginning only, so open them in Excel if you need the whole thing. Complex formulas, charts, or conditional formatting may appear as computed values or look different from the original.

Turning it into a PDF to share

Open the file, click 'Print · Save as PDF', and in the print dialog choose 'Save as PDF' as the destination. The shortcut is Cmd+P on Mac and Ctrl+P on Windows.

The resulting PDF opens anywhere, even for people who don't have Excel installed, which makes sharing tables easy.
