When it comes in handy

What can and can't be repaired
Images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP, BMP) and PDF are repaired when the header or structure is broken. ZIP, DOCX, and XLSX are diagnosed to tell you what's wrong, but they are not reassembled. Damage where data is erased or overwritten cannot be recovered in principle.
