Government forms, school notices, documents from Korean colleagues — HWP files show up everywhere, but Hancom Office often isn't installed. Maybe you're on a Mac, on a work PC without it, or on your phone. A browser viewer opens the file with nothing to install, and the file is never uploaded to a server.

How to open one — no install, no upload

  1. 1Open the HWP viewer in your browser.
  2. 2Select or drag in the HWP file — everything is processed inside the browser.
  3. 3The document renders on screen; scroll and read.

HWPX files open too

The newer open-format hwpx files, increasingly common from Korean public offices, open in the same viewer — no need to hunt for a different tool per extension.

Printing, or saving as PDF

The viewer's built-in "Print · Save as PDF" button opens the browser's print dialog. Print directly, or choose "Save as PDF" as the destination to convert the HWP into a PDF — handy for passing the document to someone without Hancom software.

Will it look exactly identical? An honest answer

Most everyday documents — text, tables, images — read fine. But HWP is a complex, mostly closed format, so documents heavy with intricate tables, equations or embedded objects may lay out slightly differently from the original. If you need pixel-perfect fidelity, say for an official printed submission, do the final check in Hancom Office or Hancom Docs.

On a Mac, on a phone

All it takes is a browser, so it works the same on Mac, Windows and Linux. It opens on phones too — plenty for quickly checking a document's contents on the go.
